Wisconsin Personnel Development Project (WPDP)
Project Description:
WPDP partners with Wisconsin?s Birth to 3 Program to address the need for well qualified early intervention service providers in the state. WPDP offers a wide range of educational opportunities focused on improving the quality of professional practices within Wisconsin?s Birth to 3 Program. The multifaceted program offers a menu of options for parents, service providers from all disciplines, and program managers/ administrators. Activities include statewide and regional inservice workshops, parent leadership training (i.e., Parents as Leaders), a video lending library, technical assistance, a web site, and materials development and dissemination. Statewide, over 800 individuals from 72 counties participate in training activities each year. Even more access information and resources through the WPDP website, especially the natural environments site that features best practices related to the implementation of early intervention services within families? naturally occurring routines and activities. In addition to collaboration with Wisconsin?s Birth to 3 Program, staff collaborate with other state and regional organizations committed to young children and their families.
