Project Description:
This project is evaluating the delivery of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Learn the Signs/Act Early (LTS/AE) materials SafeCare home visitor to families in the child welfare system (CWS). SafeCare is an evidence-based parent education program for families at risk for child maltreatment. The project will assess the impact of the LTS/AE awareness education conducted by home visitation staff in their work with families. The overarching goal of this project is to increase early identification of developmental delays among children who are known to be at disproportionate risk for experiencing such delays. The long-term goal of the research is to determining the feasibility of using home visitation workers to increase parental awareness of developmental milestones and the impact of early intervention.
