Person-centered profiles exploring school engagement and illusory bias among students with emotional and behavioral support needs.
Product Description:
This study used latent profile analysis to examine differences among 180 children in the Northwest US receiving special education for emotional or behavioral support needs. Six behavioral profiles were identified. While teacher reports of student engagement varied significantly across these profiles, student self-reports did not. Students with higher support needs showed a greater "illusory bias," meaning their self-perceptions of functioning aligned less with their teachers' ratings.
