CEDC Speaker Series - Access for All: Building Digital and Document Accessibility Skills

All were invited to join CEDC on Thursday, February 19, 2026, for the first session of the three-part series, Word and PDF Accessibility: Practical Strategies for Inclusive Documents. Ryan Creech from the University of Kentucky Human Development Institute presented on federal accessibility requirements, the importance of document and digital accessibility, and an introduction to creating accessible Word and PDF documents.

This presentation kicked off our 2026 professional development series, Access for All: Building Digital and Document Accessibility Skills. Participants were encouraged to continue the series with a hands-on workshop in March and reflective discussions in April through our CEDC Coffee Chats.

Ryan Creech

University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute


Ryan Creech has dedicated his career to helping people brush past limitations to reach their goals. In his job as the Technical Assistance Coordinator for the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute, he advises researchers on how to make sure they can communicate their findings to all audiences. Before that role, he spent 12 years as an Assistive Technology Specialist for the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Accessible design is more than a passion for Ryan; he’s a paraplegic with mental health and executive function issues to overcome. Ryan lives in Appalachian Eastern Kentucky on a 45-acre farm with his wife, daughter, and assorted cows, cats and chickens.
