Project Description:
The Centers of Excellence for Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Epidemiology project (Autism Centers Project) is a research grant funded by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)to the Environmental Epidemiology Division at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment with a subcontract to JFK Partners, Colorado's UCEDD. The goals of this project are to: 1) develop a population-based epidemiological surveillance system for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in the Denver Metropolitan area; 2) improve the ability of community service providers to screen for, diagnose and treat ASD; and 3) implement an ASD case-control study with other Centers.
