FAS Third Party Evaluation
Project Description:
CHD, and other University affiliated units, will provide third party evaluation services for a statewide systems change grant administered by the State Office of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. The grant targets Alaska’s Fetal Alcohol Syndrome problem by funding community-based diagnostic teams around the state, innovative community-based programs that address FAS related issues, a public education media campaign, a statewide Knowledge, Attitude, Beliefs & Behaviors (KABB) survey, and improvements in educational services for children with FAS.
CHD coordinates a team of evaluators that will assess program iniatives related to FASD prevention, diagnosis, education, and women-at-risk of having a child with FAS. CHD plays a coordination role, managing the progress of the evaluation team, as well as providing research and evaluation services for the Women-at-Risk component of the evaluation.
