APS Consultation & Training on Autism
Project Description:
The Center for Development & Disability(CDD) will provide professional consulation and training services for Albuquerque Public School's(APS) Autism Resource Team in the following areas:
1. Best practices in Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD)
2. Technical assistance and consultation to teachers and other school
personnel
3. Utilizing team resources
4. Functioning as a team
5. Identify long-range goals and outcomes
6. Measure effects of consultation on team members, as well as
students
7. Develop a needs assessment to identify possible training options
Weekly meetings with the entire team are planned; action planning will result from those meetings. Consultation may include visits to classrooms and teachers to observe team members' interactions.
