Project Description:
The Minnesota RTC subaward project partners the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University (IOD) and the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota (ICI) in the analysis of data collected through the Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) project in Pennsylvania. IM4Q monitors collect quality of life data on over 4,000 individuals with lived experience each fiscal year. The project has been ongoing for 25 years and has accumulated robust data on the life experiences of people receiving services in the state over the last quarter century. This collaboration brings seasoned researchers with experience on the National Core Indicators (NCI) project together with IOD project researchers to analyze data, propose new research, and disseminate findings. The result is that more and deeper analysis being conducted and shared on this trove of data than either organization could do independently, leading to advancements in the field of disability research on quality of life for people receiving support services. Recent projects include investigations of choice and control data, employment, exploration of the nature of considerations requested by program participants, and ongoing analysis of health data.
