Project Description:
This project was implemented to develop a five year action plan that is meant to improve transition outcomes for youth with disabilities. Participants include youth with disabilities, family members, advocates, school district staff, Alaska Works Initiative partners, other key state and federal partners, the Consumer Employment Leadership Network, employers, service providers, intermediary organizations, and faith based organizations. Meetings are planned to be scheduled with division directors and their management teams to discuss the action plan in general and specific commitments of each division. For those areas where there is agreement to proceed, available resources and capacity building issues wil also be discussed. The stakeholder group will be re-convened anually to assess the extent to which the action plan is being implemented and continuing resources are being secured consistent with the Pro-Bank framework. The stakeholder groups will also update the action plan, concentrating on maximizing the use of existing resources and leveraging new resources.
