Project Description:
The Tarjan Center will partner with California's Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in close coordination to ensure expanded access to information, employment opportunities, and community connection for people with IDD in California. This contract has two key focus areas: (1) The Workforce Preparation and Placement Pathway will improve employment outcomes with the State of California for persons receiving services with the regional center system. (2) The Training and Community Resource Sharing Pathway will expand access to information and strengthen selfadvocacy for all Californians with IDD. WORKFORCE PREPARATION AND PLACEMENT PATHWAY The Workforce Preparation and Placement Pathway workstream brings together five powerful initiatives: (1) Certified Neuroinclusive Employer Training for DDS Staff (2) UCLA Advocacy Academy for Emerging Disability Rights Leaders (3) PEERS® for Careers (4) Individual Coaching (5) Paid Internship Opportunities TRAINING & COMMUNITY RESOURCE SHARING PATHWAY This workstream will expand access to information and strengthen self-advocacy for all Californians with IDD through expanded trainings, disseminationefforts, and plain-language and accessibility,
