Fiscal Year:
2026
Contact Information:
Project Description:
The Nisonger Center serves as a host site for the professional fellows program funded by the US Department of State for emerging leaders in east Africa to exchanges and implement best practices for inclusive civic engagement. The follow completes a 4-week fellowship at our Center to engage with staff and community partners to inform the implementation of a follow-on project in the fellows home country. The host mentor works closely with the fellow to provide professional development and learning opportunities, as well as foster cultural exchange and understanding of disability within a global context. There is also an opportunity for an "outbound" experience for the host mentor to visit and support the fellow during their follow-own project in their home country.
