Project Description:
The PROMISE Study: Predicting ASD Outcomes Using Quantitative Movement Metrics in Infancy: This study will use wearable sensors to measure motor development in the first year of life in infants at in-creased likelihood for autism spectrum disorder [ASD] (ILA, defined as having an older sibling with ASD). By using wearable sensors and machine learning techniques, we will develop objective, relia-ble, and scalable movement measures that identify infants who go on to develop ASD from those with more general developmental delays and typical development. The findings from this study can advance early identification of ASD in a range of infants at ILA and support the potential for earlier interventions and improved outcomes.
