This project promotes inclusive employment for youth with disabilities by increasing awareness and effective use of assistive technology (AT) among educators, students, families, and employers. Objective 1: Build capacity through an asynchronous online training series covering AT types, service access, implementation strategies, transition resources, workplace advocacy, and community support. While designed for educators, the training is open to families, employers, and community members. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be offered to encourage participation. The training information will be summarized in a guide for distribution to employers, reinforcing the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities, and demonstrate how AT can support inclusive workplace practices. Objective 2: Foster understanding and acceptance of AT as a tool for independence and inclusion across school, work, and community settings. Three in-person learning labs will be hosted in urban and rural Montana, offering hands-on interaction with AT and opportunities for one-on-one consultations with project staff.
