Project Description:

The Washington State Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnostic & Prevention Network (FASDPN), based at the University of Washington IHDD, is a longstanding interdisciplinary program advancing FASD diagnosis, intervention, prevention, training, research, and public health policy. Established in 1993 with support from the Centers for Disease Control and expanded into a statewide clinical network through Washington State legislation in 1995, FASDPN has developed and disseminated evidence-informed approaches to FASD diagnosis and prevention for more than 30 years. The program provides interdisciplinary diagnostic services, trains professionals and diagnostic teams, develops and shares clinical tools including the FASD 4-Digit Diagnostic Code, and translates research into practice and systems change. In 2024, Washington State further strengthened its commitment to FASD services through House Bill 1168, supporting expanded diagnostic and intervention capacity.
