Enhancing the No Wrong Door Systems 2025-2027
Project Description:
Over two years, the University of Missouri- Kansas City – Institute for Human Development (UMKC-IHD), in partnership with the State of Missouri and key stakeholders, will strengthen Missouri's No Wrong Door (NWD) system to ensure timely access to long-term services and supports (LTSS). The project's goal is to enhance collaboration between aging and disability networks, improving access to information, resources, and services for Missourians in need of LTSS and their caregivers. Objectives are: 1) to ensure successful execution and timely completion of project activities and deliverables; 2) to strengthen Missouri's NWD governance structure; 3) to advance national NWD workforce through embedded training and standards for person-and family-centered practices, 4) to expand the landscape of community-based partners that support NWD efforts to increase the capacity to serve all populations; and 5) to address the need for modernized Information Technology (IT) systems. Outcomes include a formalized and expanded NWD governance structure, a sustainability plan, increased workforce capacity through established and adopted training programs, improved outreach and awareness of the NWD system across broader LTSS networks, and increased leadership capacity to implement interoperability strategies. Products include a sustainability plan, statewide workforce training framework, ADRC designation criteria and application process, education and awareness materials, a statewide map of interoperability initiatives and opportunities, and a plan for sustainable and accessible online LTSS resources
