North Dakota Journey into Employment
Project Description:
Journey's goal is to assist provider agencies in securing competitive integrated employment for disconnected youth and/or adults with disabilities. Journey staff will provide training, technical support, and in-person mentoring on Customized Employment skills and strategies. Customized Employment is a process for creating jobs that are tailored to the unique strengths, interests, and needs of a job seeker and the specific needs of an employer. This win-win strategy benefits both job seekers and employers by fostering greater job satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
Journey and provider agency staff will work towards the common goal of successful and meaningful employment for persons with disabilities. Focus will be on person-centered employment planning, family and social engagement. This ongoing support will ensure a successful and lasting job matches. Provider agencies will receive training through online modules, in person workshops, monthly check-ins and as needed T/TA.
