Project Description:
With respect to national health indicators for children, NM ranks at, or near the bottom, when compared with other states in the U.S. and the District of Columbia. In addition, NM has a higher general disability rate than the national average, and reports severe shortages in all medical and therapy professions, especially in the rural and Southwest areas of the state. The continuing purpose of the LEND project is to expand the exemplary training efforts initiated by the NM LEND program since 1994.
