Special Olympics of Southern Arizona Healthy Athletes Program
Project Description:
Dr. Tamsen Bassford is a Clinical Director for Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) Healthy Athletes Health Promotion Program in the Coronado region. She works with University of Arizona Medical Students, through the UACOM AADMD student chapter, to develop and deliver fun health promotion activities at SOAZ events in the Tucson region. She also is a clinical director in the SOAZ MEDFEST program, which provides free sport physicals to current SO athletes and those hoping to become athletes.
Dr. Bassford works with SOAZ on their overall goals for athlete health through volunteer work with SOAZ Health Leadership Council members.
