Iowa's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)
Project Description:
A UCEDD since 1972, the Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) is proud to be a member of the national UCEDD network. Consistent with the Developmental Disabilities Act, our mission is to increase the independence, productivity and community inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of their lives through preparation of personnel, community services and technical assistance, research and information sharing. CDD, as Iowa's UCEDD, has a vision of a "life in the community for all." In FY19, CDD began implementation of our new 5 year plan, focusing on advocacy, capacity building and systems change activities related to the areas of employment, education, community living, and health and wellness. CDD looks forward to continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities, their families and the service systems that support them.
