Preschool Development Grant B-5 (Pyramid Model)
Project Description:
The Utah Pyramid Model project is designed to improve the social emotional development of young children in Utah receiving services through early care and education systems. The project provides all ECCE practitioners and families the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, disposition and support to nurture infants and young children's social emotional well-being within their family, culture, and community, based on PM practices.
The Utah Pyramid Model is a conceptual framework of evidence-based practices that enhance the knowledge and skills of local ECCE practitioners and families related to social emotional developoment of young children. The model uses a cohesive approach to promoting young children's social emotional development, addressing the needs of young children with challenging behaviors and special needs in an integrated model of tiered support. The model provides guidance on how to implement the evidence-based practices in the delivery of universal promotion, secondary prevention, and tertiary individualized approaches for challenging behaviors.
