Project Description:
The Institute for disability, Research, Policy, & Practice (IDRPP) Project ECHO® at Utah State University Autism ECHO network is a professional development network for early childhood providers around the 5 steps of early identification of autism which are: 1) Promotional awareness, 2) Developmental Monitoring, 3) Developmental screening and assessments 4) Referrals for needed supports and services, and 5) Receiving appropriate services. The ECHO model is a relatively inexpensive way to provide professional development to early childhood providers. The ECHO model is designed for rapid and effective dissemination of knowledge to those in rural and distant areas. The training is always free for participants and has been shown in numerous research articles to be an effective way to provide low-cost, high quality professional development on a variety of topics.
