Birth to Five Mental Health Trainings
Project Description:
The Birth to Five Training project provides continuing education and community training to professionals working for agencies serving children ages birth through 5 years. Training includes content regarding mental health needs and interventions for young children and their families, including those experiencing trauma, and underrepresented groups (ethnically and linguistically). Training is provided by an interdisciplinary team of experts including professionals from psychology, developmental-behavioral pediatrics, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. Topics include: Best Practices in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health; Brain Development and Implications for Attachment and Treatment of Young Children; A Family-Centered Approach to Picky Eating; Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Initital Assessment; Infant-Family Mental Health for Medically Fragile Infants and Young Children; Navigating the System of Care for Young Children with Special Needs and Their Families; Reflective Practice for Supervisor leaders; Sensory Integration; Trauma in Infants; Typical and Atypical Development in Young Children.
