Pathway Weavers: Freestyle Expression, Creativity, and Relaxation
Project Description:
Pathway Weavers project will increase availability and accessibility of freestyle weaving, while also helping to improve quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities in South Mississippi. Monthly group meetings will provide opportunities for learning how to use hard kettle rigid looms for participants to create their own woven masterpieces. Pathway Weavers participants will gain experience in self-directed creativity that allows them to express themselves in a soothing and relaxing manner. Freestyle weaving is a beneficial form of art therapy that is an untimed, continuous process through which individuals guide their own self-expression and self-discovery. Participants will have the ability to work at their own pace and create their own beautiful artwork.
