Research development to address IDD health disparities

Project Description:

BIRDS (Building Inclusive Resources and Disability Services) recruited and inclusive research advisory committee of people with IDD, known as self-advocate leaders (SALs) that meet monthly. We discuss the merits of possible research questions and prioritize and finalize the highest priority question(s). We will conduct focus groups that will inform better strategies for including people with IDD and a social network analysis to identify the partner network for this work and make recommendations to strengthen that network. Finally, we will collaborate on grant proposals responsive to the prioritized research topics and the networks developed.
