Learn the Signs. Act Early! Special Project

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2026
Contact Information:
Project Description:
We will work with state partners to integrate Learn the Signs. Act Early (LTSAE) resources into at least two child-serving systems (i.e., Head Start/Early Head Start, Early Impact (Home Visiting), and Early Intervention) through establishing a network of Act Early Delegates. We will also strengthen the integration of developmental monitoring in the Early Intervention system by aligning LTSAE and The Basics Virginia content for dissemination to families and for use by early care and education providers; we will pilot their use in three communities in one region of the state that serves a large population of families living at or below 200% of the poverty level. For both objectives, key activities include customizing materials (LTSAE, The Basics Virginia) to include Virginia-specific information; identifying and training Act Early Delegates in at least two child-serving sectors; and collaborating with families of young children to ensure that this work is led by families of young children, including children with disabilities
