Project Description:
Working with the Virginia Department of Health, we aim to strengthen state maternal and child systems of care for developmental promotion, early detection and linkage to services for P-3 populations. The goals and objectives that frame our work from 2021 - 2026 include: Goal 1: VA-ECCs will increase P-3 state coordination and alignment between maternal and child health and other state systems that impact young children. 1.1. Work with partners to develop statewide strategies to increase coordination and alignment between maternal and child health and other state systems that impact young children through the use of a health system-based approach and engagement of key partners throughout the five year funding cycle. Goal 2: VA-ECCS will increase state level infrastructure and capacity to strengthen state maternal and early childhood systems of care. 2.1. Conduct a state system asset and gap analysis. 2.2. Develop sustainable financing options for infrastructure and services beyond the grant. Goal 3: VA-ECCs will build state early childhood professional and family leadership capacity. 3.1. Build family leadership capacity to align collaborative interagency and partner contributions throughout the development and implementation of the ECCS strategic plan. Goal 4: VA-ECCS will strengthen and implement a cross-sector state-level maternal and early childhood strategic plan 4.1. Work through the Advisory Council to develop and implement a cross-sector P-3 early childhood strategic plan over the five years of grant funding.
