Project Description:
ECLIPSE (Employment Capacity Leveraged through Inclusive Post-Secondary Education) is a statewide model demonstration project housed at the University of Idaho and funded through a United States Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration grant (DIF 84.421F). ECLIPSE is designed to promote competitive integrated employment (CIE) within inclusive post-secondary education (IPSE) programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. IPSE programs currently supported by ECLIPSE include University of Idaho's Vandal QUEST, Boise State's PEERS, and Lewis-Clark State College's SPARC. ECLIPSE fosters student development through a range of activities, including guidance from CIE Specialists at each site, support from peer job coaches who are trained by Idaho's Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD), targeted instruction, participation in the annual conference, and opportunities to grow as youth leaders. We are actively expanding Idaho's IPSE network, promoting CIE, advocating for policy change, and hosting innovative events, such as reverse career fairs that connect students with meaningful employment pathways.
Target Audience:
Students/Trainees (long or intermediate trainees), Professionals and Para-Professionals, Adults with Disabilities
