ETM: Kansas Employment Cross Systems Training
Project Description:
The purpose of this project is to direct the development of training and technical assistance in partnership with KDC to create a knowledge base of cross systems to support building Integrated Resource Teams (IRT). An Integrated Resource Team (IRT) is a group of people who help a job seeker with disabilities make progress along their career journey. The goal of an IRT is to help this person earn a stable, sustainable wage and develop a long-term career. An IRT is an informal, customer-centered partnership between an individual job-seeker with a disability and diverse service systems. Its goal is to coordinate services and leverage funding to give the job-seeker comprehensive, wrap-around services tailored to their unique needs and employment goals. To support the development of Integrated Resource Teams and build capacity for local communities to collaborate with local community services that can support youth goal setting and attainment, we propose to create of a series of short videos for each system to introduce the services each system provides, the intake process, and the best way to connect with them. We will also create a video of family members and youth describing their experiences accessing coordinated services to underscore the importance of systems working together. These video series will be supplemented by developing a model for local technical assistance sessions that KDC will facilitate with local systems partners sharing procedures that ensure "warm hand-offs" and a framework for smooth collaboration practices."
