Project Description:
This study will examine the initial efficacy of a comprehensive intervention combining two research-based interventions, Check and Connect (C&C) and the Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction (SDLMI) on secondary/transition outcomes (i.e., academic achievement, self-determination, graduation) and post secondary outcomes (i.e., access to and progress in post secondary education, employment) for youth with disabilities at risk for school failure. Efficacy studies of C&C and the SDLMI have established impacts on outcomes for students with disabilities. However, each intervention has unique features that, if combined, have the potential to more comprehensively address the complex needs of secondary students with disabilities at risk for school failure.
