Project Description:
The goal of the project is to maintain, extend, and disseminate the 46-year longitudinal record of revenue, spending, and programmatic trends of publicly funded ID/DD services across the nation and disseminate accessible information to increase knowledge and data-driven advocacy for improved ID/DD services and supports. We will accomplish this goal through five objectives: 1) data collection and analysis of ID/DD financial and programmatic data from the fifty states and District of Columbia for FYs 2022-2027; 2) completion of special studies; 3) successful collaboration with partners at multiple levels; 4) completion of formative and summative evaluation; and 5) production, development, and dissemination of accessible information in a variety of formats for diverse audiences. Anticipated outcomes include: 1) increased knowledge and understanding of federal and state spending of ID/DD services and supports by people with ID/DD, family members, policymakers, media, and the public; 2) increased accessibility of Project products through the inclusion of accessibility features; 3) identification of innovations in service delivery systems, state policy, and practice through technology solutions; and 4) successful applications of data and products by individuals, organizations, and systems to improve services for people with ID/DD through increased funding. Expected products include PNS quarterly webinars, technical assistance responses, three comprehensive project reports, customized data briefs, special study reports, interactive data visualizations, presentations, Data Ambassador training series, social media posts, and the development of an accessible iconography library.
