Project Description:
This project will employ an innovative system level approach to address the decrease in family engagement and participation in school information and resource sharing activities. School, family, and local family support agencies will collaborate to implement a professional development training on culturally responsive practice model of family engagement and create a Family Ambassador Resource program that will provide family-to-family support to families navigating the special education program within a school district, expand families' access to resources and information, and facilitate exchange of knowledge and skills. Through this project, we anticipate increased family engagement, participation, and partnership between schools and families.
