Girls Night Out: Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities (KCDD) Contract
Project Description:
Our GNO Program proposal objectives and project activities address KCDD's funding priority to enhance Inclusion within the Community, which is a primary component of our program's mission and in direct alignment with program services and supports. Our program and proposal activities also align with the goal of KCDD grants to increase supports that will lead to greater independence and self-determination as well as enhanced access for underrepresented and underserved individuals and communities, achieved through three primary aims, 1) Increased access to evidence informed, culturally responsive services, 2) Strategic Partnerships for Inclusive Communities, and 3) Enhanced Workforce Capacity. Proposed activities include scaling up our program services and supports, increasing access for Kansas girls and young women with ASD/IDD and their families with an emphasis on expanded access in rural and underserved Kansas communities. Our training initiatives and extensive experience implementing community-based interventions and supports will enhance workforce capacity. Additional activities include partnerships with community members, businesses, and neurotypical peers that build capacity and promote inclusive communities. Through these activities, we anticipate enhanced community participation and social networks for Kansas girls and young women with ASD/IDD, individualized options for those on the waiting list, and building a foundation to support ongoing efforts towards more inclusive communities.
