Healthy Active Lifestyles
Project Description:
This public health project is a collaboration between Movement Science faculty at the University of Idaho, student trainees in health-related fields, and CDHD. Under the guidance of faculty, student health educators will engage in a variety of activities that serve to support people with disabilities to improve health outcomes through education and outreach services. The program will include culturally affirmative and linguistically accessible information across a wide variety of topics such as access assistance for vaccines and boosters, personal wellness education, movement training, social isolation, and social determinants of healthy active life styles. In general, the program will carry out activities that support the public health and wellbeing of people with disabilities. This program will link with the Idaho Assistive Technology Project to support transition and diversion from high-risk congregate settings to community living.
