Project Description:
The proposed study seeks to develop and pilot a sexual and reproductive health (SRH) program for Congolese female refugee adolescents who have resettled in Missoula, Montana. The first aim of the study is to understand barriers and facilitators to SRH education among Congolese adolescent females in partnership with a community advisory board. The second aim is to implement an adapted and culturally appropriate SRH education intervention for this population. The study is led by Dr. Marcy Hanson (MSU-College of Nursing). Dr. McKenzie Javorka will provide consultation and study support related to qualitative and community-engaged/participatory research methods, as well as content expertise related to sexual health and health equity.
