Project Description:
Goal 1: Provide Interdisciplinary Leadership Training. ACT LEND will increase the number of diverse health professionals, family members and self-advocates with advanced competencies by providing interdisciplinary leadership training on the complex needs of those affected by autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental and other related disabilities. Goal 2: Promote Health Equity in Screening, Diagnosis, and Service Delivery. ACT LEND faculty, staff and trainees will engage in direct services, technical assistance (TA), and advocacy activities in collaboration with local state and, national partners including Texas Title V programs. Goal 3: Provide Continuing Education for Practicing Professionals in Texas. ACT LEND will hold state-wide continuing education activities; hold monthly educational presentations on autism and developmental disability related topics; deliver onsite/virtual trainings on MCH competencies; the delivery of culturally appropriate practices for underserved and/or racially or ethnically diverse communities. Goal 4: Disseminate Evidence-based Knowledge to Key Stakeholder Groups. ACT LEND faculty, staff and trainees will engage in research and evaluation and disseminate knowledge to professionals, families, self-advocates and other stakeholders.
