Project Description:
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh's Family Care Connection Centers were established to reduce the rate of child abuse in local communities. Today, centers provide both general and specialized social services for all members of the family, particularly children, adolescents and mothers to improve family functioning. Each center is linked to a Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Primary Care Center and works in partnership with comunity-based programs in each area. Services include:
Nurse home visiting
Mental health services
Substance abuse prevention and treatment
Child development
Parenting education
Community building
Programs aim to promote the health and well-being of child, families, and communities.
