Project Description:
This project provides interdisciplinary training supports for the core Maternal and Child Health (MCH) disciplines of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at Children's Hospital Boston. The LEND/UCEDD mandate is to provide interdisciplinary training, exemplary service, research and dissemination in the field of developmental disabilities. The emphasis of the MCHB training is on the development of professionals from many disciplines including family members and self advocates. Trainees will understand the MCH leadership competencies, interdisciplinary relationships among disciplines as well as broader system issues as they relate to pratice through the implementation of federal and state policy. Specific leadership curriculum is emphasized so that trainees will be better prepared to assume leadership roles in the field of developmental disabilities. The grant supports faculty involvement and provides stipend funds to qualified trainees.
