Project Description:
The purpose of the current contract is to lend support to the Pathways to Success Project (PSP) initiated by the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). This project aims to enhance vocational rehabilitation outcomes for individuals with disabilities, specifically addressing the needs of those with IDD. The UCLA Tarjan Center has been entrusted with the responsibility of providing training and technical assistance to the established sector specialist teams, comprising rehabilitation counselors and business specialists, as well as employers involved in the project. The overarching goal is to overcome longstanding barriers to employment for individuals with IDD by employing evidence-based approaches. The two primary objectives of this collaboration are: •Increased Knowledge and Awareness: To enhance the understanding of best practices in employment for individuals with IDD among DOR sector specialist teams and employers. •Application of Best and Promising Practices: To foster increased knowledge and application of best and promising practices that cater to the individual career development needs, encompassing career preparation, hiring, accommodations, and ongoing support.
