Maternal and Child Health Training Education
Project Description:
The purpose of this contract is for the LifeCourse Nexus—housed at the University of Missouri Kansas City, Institute for Human Development (UMKC-IHD)—to support the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) network (Special Health Care Needs Family Partners and staff, MCH team members, family members, and broader stakeholders) by providing a series of capacity building, training and professional development activities that cover such topics as:
• Person-centered/family-centered approaches
• Alternatives to guardianship
• An array of life domain topics to learn about options and resources
• Problem-solving/planning skills
Provide technical assistance and process consulting to offer guidance, support, and project management for activities.
Provide training to the MCH network (including but not limited to SHCN Family Partners and staff, MCH team members, family members, and broader stakeholders):
• Introduction to Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) Framework – Three (3) live virtual events.
• CtLC Skill Building Series – Three (3) live virtual or in-person cohorts. 3.2.3 CtLC Workshop: Alternatives to Guardianship – Edited and archived for future viewing (close caption in Spanish).
• CtLC Ambassador Series – One (1) hybrid/virtual cohort 3.2.5 Good Life Group Facilitation – Six (6) virtual sessions 3.3 The Contractor shall make training and educational handouts available to training attendees.
• Handouts shall be printed as requested by the Department.
• Present at 2024 SCHN Family Partnership Retreat
UMKC will report training attendance and all survey-related data for the trainings above. Training sessions will be archived and made available for future viewing as applicable.
