Project Description:
This project will facilitate a strategic exploration and planning process utilizing the Charting the LifeCourse framework and planning methodology, resulting in an assessment of and recommendations for existing service design, as well as recommendations and a potential pilot design plan, and preliminary implementation strategies to support Office of Autism Services in expanding to provide services to adults with Autism.
The primary objective of this project is to utilize the CtLC framework concepts and tools – applied in various formats – to guide the development of an implementation plan for innovative strategies
that will build on the existing services and structures to expand for adults (over age 21).
Phase 1: Environmental Scan
During the pre-planning phase, the LifeCourse Nexus team will utilize components of the CtLC framework to (1) organize and synthesize existing program design information and contextual (other state program designs, etc.) benchmark and best practice data and (2) gather, analyze, and present additional feedback and input from partners and community stakeholders. These activities will support the clarification of potential priorities and strategic focus areas for adult services.
Phase 2: Pilot Design
The LifeCourse Nexus team will utilize concepts and practices from Implementation Science and the Diffusion of Innovation to guide the Office of Autism services team in developing a shared mission and vision for adult services and will facilitate planning to develop strategies that address the key priorities identified in phase 1. This will include specifically and collaboratively defining success for each goal, establishing benchmarks and timelines, and creating action steps that leverage an integrated array of supports and strategies. This phase will include an in-person meeting and planning session, followed by regular technical assistance calls to shape and refine the pilot plan, support implementation, and conduct rapid-cycle improvement methodologies. A final in-person reflection and planning session will then be facilitated to utilize the learning from the initial phase and identify ongoing strategies for scalability and sustainability.
Phase 3: Pilot Implementation and Evaluation
The LifeCourse Nexus team will facilitate onboarding and capacity building of pilot sites, coaching calls for implementation support, and facilitate a final planning eevnt to review the results of the pilots and identify strategies that will be scaled and sustained.
