Project Description:

The co-PIs (Julie Armin, The University of Arizona, and Heather Williamson, Northern Arizona University) will work with their team to achieve the following aims during the award period: Aim 1. Examine cancer treatment and survivorship disparities between people with and without IDD for the most common cancer among men and women in the US (colorectal), focusing on differences by race, geographic region, and age. o Aim 1a. Compare in people with and without IDD over 65: 5-year survival among people with co-morbidities. o Aim 1b. Characterize people with IDD under 65 and over 65: Characterize cancer diagnosis, stage at diagnosis, and 5-year survival. Aim 2: Conduct policy surveillance in two US States to understand the impact of policy on outcomes.
