Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative
Project Description:
The Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI) is Delaware's state Assistive Technology Program funded under the federal Assistive Technology Act. DATI connects Delawareans who have disabilities with the tools they need in order to learn, work, play, and participate in community life safely and independently. DATI helps individuals find technology solutions through its Assistive Technology Resource Centers in Newark and Milford that offer training as well as no-cost equipment demonstration and short-term equipment loan. It also coordinates a used equipment reuse program; operates several equipment distribution programs; publishes resource materials; advocates for more person-centered laws and policies relative to assistive technology access; and assists Delawareans in navigating policy and funding challenges.
