Fiscal Year:

Project Description:
Supported Decision-Making (SDM) is a legal support option that allows people with disabilities of all ages to get the help they may need to make choices in different areas of life, such as their personal life, healthcare, and/or finances. However, many people are not families with SDM and other less restrictive alternatives to guardianship that are available in Delaware. The Center for Disabilities Studies (CDS), through the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program (LEND), collaborated with the Delaware Developmental Disability Council (DDC) to develop plain language resources and accompanying resources to explain each of Delaware's legal support options with a focus on transition-aged youth and their famililes.
