Expanding the Public Health Workforce within the Disability Network Program: UCEDDs
Project Description:
This will be a collaborative project that will address the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as individuals with I/DD and their families re-integrate into the community after the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus will be on pandemic behavior recovery through mental health information and supports provided for individuals with I/DD and their families living in rural and underserved areas. We anticipate partnering with community partners such as the Arc chapters, schools, and providers to gain an understanding of the mental health support needs in their community for individuals with I/DD of all ages. Development of the supports will be done in partnership with the same agencies and disseminated according to their community's preference. For example, the Arc of the Central Mountains has a large population of Spanish-speaking families that prefer short Facebook Live sessions with information.
