iCanConnect (Nat'l Deaf-Blind Equipment Dist. Prog.)
Project Description:
The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities was selected by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to be the sole authorized entity certified to participate in the National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP) for Wyoming. NDBEDP provides funding of up to $10 million annually for the distribution of communications equipment to low-income individuals who are deaf-blind. WIND was awarded $62,336 toward reimbursements for equipment, assessments, consumer training, and expenses.
The Wyoming DBEDP will offer information, assessments, and equipment to over 200 adults and children who have been identified as having deaf-blindness in the state.
