Inclusive Post-Secondary Education / Destination Dawgs
Project Description:
Housed in the Center for Leadership in Disability at Georgia State University, the Georgia Inclusive Post-secondary Education Consortium is a group of people dedicated to ensuring that every Georgia student has access to learning after high school, regardless of intellectual or developmental disability. Doctor Carol Britton Laws is a member of the Consortium. The consortium meets monthly to keep pace with some ambitious goals, including to find ways to offer inclusive post-secondary education to more young people with disabilities that are currently precluded from participating in college life.
At the University of Georgia, a team of faculty in a collaboration between the J.W. Fanning Institute and the Institute on Human Development and Disability with the support of the Student Government Association at the University of Georgia are currently exploring the potential of inclusive post-secondary education.
