Project Description:
This funding will hire 3 part-time Assistive Technology (AT) Ambassadors for MonTECH within the Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities. AT Ambassadors will conduct targeted outreach to congregate housing (group homes, senior living, assisted living, and nursing homes) and other area organizations and specialized populations to explore how different AT, including smart home technology, could benefit both residents and the workforce. Working as a small team and in close collaboration with MonTECH's Program Director, AT Ambassadors will create and implement innovative strategies to build awareness for AT, MonTECH services, and pathways towards safer and more independent participation in daily activities.
