Project Description:
Amount $36,000. A training designed to increase the confidence of peer support specialists, case managers, and clinicians to work with those with autism in outpatient settings through partnership with the Polyvagal Institute. This training is designed to give users the basics of polyvagal theory as it applies to the principles, a model of understanding and intervening with autism, the autistic body from a sensorimotor regulation level. By pulling together disciplines like Occupational Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Critical Race Theory, Applied Behavioral Analysis and a Polyvagal Model of Autism users can expect to be more confident and serve more individuals with Autism. Awarded in April of 2023 for delivery in March of 2024. To be administered statewide to SAMSHA treatment facilities, under supervision of Terri Lee, LCSW, and Debbie Moran, LCSW.
