Project Description:
This project was awarded to us from the National Center on Health Disability and Physical Activity. The Project is titled NiCIP; NCHPAD's inclusive Community Implementation Process. This is a four stage process in which we are tasked with engaging a group of our choice (Franklin County Public Health) and based on inclusion gaps, identify inclusion solutions to improve their inclusion and equity for the people with disabilities they serve. Fiscal year 24 has focused on stage 1; building an inclusive health coalition. We meet monthly to determine best practices and focus on inclusion gaps within Franklin County Public Health - with FCPH staff's help. Once we collected the information about the major inclusion gaps, we narrowed down which would be most beneficial to address. At that point we came up with inclusion solutions that were focused on bridging that gap. In the coming years of this project, we will refine the inclusion solution, get community feedback, and eventually work to incorporate the inclusion solution in Franklin County Public Health's policies and systems.
