Project Description:
Individuals with mild autism who are transitioning from school to adult life often find themselves without adequate services and supports. Aspirations is an 12-week social skills support program that has an active caregiver and family component. The goal of the program is to provide a network for young adults with ASD in order to help them with social and emotional adjustment to adult life. Once people complete the 12-week program, they are eligible to participate in monthly educational, vocational, and recreational activities. Aspirations is one of the largest programs of its kind, having served over 1000 individuals with high-functioning autism and over 1300 caregivers over the course of 20 years.
